aboutus

Grootfontein Wildlife Estate is located 3 hours from Gauteng in the beautiful Limpopo Province, near the famous malaria-free eco-tourism town of Thabazimbi, South Africa.

We are a 4th generation working family farm and welcome all lovers of the great African outdoors. Piet & Pattie Grobler bought the farm Hanover in 1939 and lived off the land during the extended school holidays at the time! Jan Grobler Snr and Marita took over in the 1970's, added citrus and cattle farming and moved the base to the adjacent Grootfontein farm

TESTIMONIALS

"They were fantastic - I absolutely loved Ruwenzori - it’s like lying in bed looking at a cinema screen of the bush, wow. I also really liked Giant Rock and Kudu lodge - both unique and have a great Jan feel about them - connected to great views and wonderful bush. The sunrises and sunsets of Giant Rock are wow. Great for romantic couples (I would think) - all absolutely stunning. I still love Aloe Lodge - perhaps because I know it...nice to have people stay together too. Thumbs up to you and Jan - absolutely love Grootfontein but then again - I don’t need to tell you that"
